Dominick Wright, 10, and Ashlie Stone, 10, represent the freshmen class in the homecoming court at the 2019 homecoming football game against Grassfield High School. Wright was nominated by his peers for homecoming court and won alongside his girlfriend, Stone. “It was really cool to win Homecoming court as Freshmen and I knew that Ashile was really exciting so that just added to it,” Wright said.

Every Bruin is unique and has a story to tell. Some stories are very powerful that most people would never know about. As a true Bruin since 4th grade, Dominic Wright, 10, has more pride in the Bruin name than most students because he has been one for so long.

I’m very proud of how far I’ve come with myself, making friends and playing basketball and having the time of my life,” Wright, 10, said.

Last winter, Dominic won Homecoming court with his girlfriend Ashlie Stone, 10.

“It was really cool to win Homecoming court as Freshmen and I knew that Ashlie was really exciting so that just added to it,” Wright said.

While being nominated for Homecoming was an honor, his true passion lies in basketball. Wright had a love and passion for basketball ever since he was 10 years old.

“My dad started me young and I’m grateful for it, as my love for basketball grows and grows every time I play the sport,” Wright said.

Wright’s plan after high school is to go to college for criminal justice.

“That’s the plan, but I have plenty of time to figure it out,” Wright said. “I’m just going with the flow right now.”
