Butterflies
April 2
April 18, 2022
It was in your eyes,
That’s how I knew.
I saw butterflies dancing in huge flowering fields,
Playing hopscotch on each flower petal.
I saw them bouncing on gusts of air,
Gracefully fluttering through baby blue skies.
I saw them weaving through strings of wind,
Braiding the breeze with their wings.
I saw them slow dancing in the sunshine,
Leaving a trail of magic behind them.
I saw magic,
The kind of magic you feel in your heart.
Like warm hugs to a sad soul
Or twinkling stars to lonely people.
Like dancing barefoot in the rain
Or watching a flower grow.
The kind of magic that is butterflies to me.
