You could chase after happiness and joy

Or imagination and discovery.

To be society’s expectation of perfection?

You could dance barefoot in the rain 

Or live in an old hollow tree.

What if it wasn’t expected of you

To fit into a box or live a normal life?

You could paint yourself blue 

Or wear pointe shoes to the library.
